Celebrating ABWK Milestones

After 14 years of serving homeowner families, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity has just surpassed it's 1500th family served through A Brush with Kindness. We also served 158 families in 2012 which is the most families we have served in a single year.

Our projects range in cost from $100 - $15,000 and include both interior and exterior work. We serve any eligible family in need but most who receive our services are seniors, single parents and those with a disability.

This past year we also focused on disaster recovery efforts from a local tornado. We also began a veterans initiative, serving 23 veterans. This coming year, we will increase the depth of our service to those needing health and safety work. Therefore, we will be installing more roofs, ramps and completing major accessibility projects.

We are using a variety of strategies to raise resources for these projects such as: sponsorships, grants, sweat equity/DIY, special events and utilizing more GIK.

We have been so blessed by the outstanding support of our community. They have made it possible to serve 1500 families and preserve their homes for many years to come.
